Employment History

2005 to present: Information Technology Manager for Foxfire Printing and Packaging, Inc., responsible for managing all facets of technology for commercial printer and fulfillment house including: IT staff; upgrading Windows NT4 domain to Windows Server 2003 and Active Directory; development of various sub-systems to automate the processing of orders, shipments, invoicing, aged A/R reporting and electronic customer notification and time records processing; installation, upgrade and maintenance of Hagen OA MIS software, associated Progress OpenEdge 10 data base, and related add-on systems including; web portals for sales team, web portal for customer order entry, automated production scheduling, and shop floor time and activity record keeping; annual and project budgets; vendor and contractor contracting.

1986 to 2005:  Self-employed - computer consultant/project manager. Various contractual and cost-plus arrangements with manufacturing and service companies such as; Mrs. Smith's Frozen Foods, Kellogg Company, Little Lake Industries, New Drug Services, Damage Recovery Services, Brandywine Compounding, International Reading Association, W. Atlee Burpee, Plants Express, Suncoast Greenhouses, Port to Port, Int’l Corp, Hopkins and Sons Moving, V.A.G Inc. and others. Projects varied from network systems installations, custom database systems for food development, accounting, process inventory tracking, time and expense systems, sales commission systems, membership systems, general accounting systems, fulfillment, hardware and software support services and training. Duties include all facets of small business.

1981 to 1986: Lead Electrical Engineer for North American Refractory, responsible for all phases of engineering for various operating facilities in North America. Projects included electrical power distribution, lighting systems, mechanical and computerized motor control, and computerized process control, statistical process control, data collection and analysis. Duties included sub-contracting, procurement, design, and supervision of other engineers, technical draftsman, programmers, field technicians and electricians numbering as high as 57.

1965 to 1981:  R.D. Goss, Inc. Various capacities; part-time shop and counter sales ('65 to '70), full time electrician ('70 to '71), project foreman ('71 to '74), project superintendent ('74 to '78), general superintendent ('78 to '79), electrical project sales and design engineer ('79 to '81). Duties of final position included supervision of all personnel working on projects assigned numbering as high as 34.

Other skills/interests:  All facets of electrical construction in commercial/industrial environments.  Process control, electro/mechanical and digital/computer.  Statistical Process Control.  Supervising and managing various groups of subordinates.  Accomplished Square Dance Caller (7 states) and teacher and the leader of an Exhibition Square Dance group.  Tenor in a church choir and a gospel quartet.
